Quake Level - FearicalFearical was the first Deathmatch Quake level I created that was ever reviewed by a map review site (Cassio's Quake Page, long since defunct). It was also the first level I made using my own texture WAD, the textures having been created by rendering out assorted stone textures in POV-Ray and then manipulating them in Photoshop to create blocks, tiles, etc. ![]() Most of the level was created out of spherical and cylindrical elements, though there were areas that were more rectilinear in form. It was an extremely annoying level to build, as the sets of brushes forming the "curved" surfaces had a distressing tendency to either acquire leaks, or cause the compiler to crash.
